It gives you remote charging status updates, so you can check existing charge levels and available range, while keeping track of your charge schedule. It also provides you with the location of your vehicle, where you can find the nearest charging stations and the most efficient route to get there. The application also estimates the amount of CO2 emissions and money you save based on your driving style - to help you manage costs and improve your efficiency.

Technology is developing new vehicles and at the end of the day, you energy consumption patterns change from one energy resource to another; either through electric cars replacing gasoline cars, or renewable energy replacing natural gas. Moreover, Microsoft designed Hohm as a cloud-computing application--built on the Azure online operating system and Bing search engine--so that users can tap into back-end data analytics for more tailored advice. Hohm provides tips based on models licensed from the Department of Energy and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, which were developed with years of data, according to Microsoft.

Another special feature of this application is that it can tell you how much power you load on your grid by switching on each device at your home.
